Project Description

In partnership with ADG Group, GCM performed concrete tilt-wall construction of the new family life center and ancillary structures at Hope Lutheran Church in Bonita Springs. Built in 2009, the new design features a full gymnasium and multi-purpose center with state-of-the-art youth recreation center, a music center including four private practice rooms, an Amigos community outreach center, a voluntary Pre-K program, and a toddler and nursery daycare center. Outside, a memorial garden with columbarium wall completed the Master Plan. The total project involved 43,000-square-feet of new and renovated space, and the estimated cost was $8 million.
In working with the Architectural firm, a site-cast tilt-up concrete was selected for the main 15,000-square-foot structure as the most cost-effective method for construction due to the design complexity. The architect was convinced that in addition to solving the design, tilt-up construction would also offer aesthetics that were advantageous for the site. The design for this structure expresses extreme creativity of form for Tilt-Up panels. Every panel on the project has either a convex or a concave radius at the top ranging from 12-ft. to 40-ft. These radii project into the air projecting the imagery appropriate for the building type.
